October 21 is Back to the Future Day, named as such because it’s a date with great significance in the BTTF series: Marty McFly and Doc Brown arrive in the future on October 21, 2015. Back to the Future has great significance in the sneaker world as well thanks to a special pair of Nike kicks, namely Marty’s self-lacing Nike MAG. In celebration of Back to the Future Day, Crep Protect has released a wild video that spotlights the MAG, a “jet suit” that enables the wearer to ride a hoverboard just like Marty did in Back to the Future Part II and even the original DeLorean AMC that served as Doc Brown and Marty’s “time machine” in the series.

Over the course of the short clip, the intrepid hoverboard rider sprays his shoes with Crep Protect and then uses the “jet suit” to hover above a pool, a frightening proposition when you’re wearing five-figure sneakers (the last self-lacing MAG sale on StockX was $76,925 USD). However, due to the Crep barrier, the water beads right up and rolls off.

See the video for yourself above, and head over to the Crep Protect webstore if you’re looking to score some of their patented waterproofers.
