Elegant and Functional, the Open 45 Credenza Is An All-In-One Home For Your Vinyl Setup
Created by LA-based Geology Studio, the modular credenza was made to “promote the use of your vinyl collection.”

If you’re a vinyl record collector — especially an avid one, with hundreds or thousands of titles in your collection — you’ve likely ran into the never-ending push and pull between storage and display. Some of your best or most-listened wax may be tucked away, suffering from anonymity on a shelf or placed in an awkward position where it can’t easily be seen by visitors. The team at Geology Studio set out to solve that problem, and the solution they came up with was the Open 45 Credenza, a modular home base for records that Geology Studio says “promotes the use of your vinyl collection.” “I’ve had a record player since I was a kid … I’ve carried [the collection] around for years and rarely played it,” Geology Studio designer Adam Friedman told Designboom when discussing the inspiration for creating the Open 45 and making vinyl easier to access.
Running either five or seven feet in length, the Open 45 offers a modular platform that’s centered around a slotted interior. This slotted interior enables owners to move around the Open 45’s divider panels and shelves for a customizable setup, as can be seen in the images above. Besides the large turntable shelf, it’s equipped with four divider panels so you can either maximize your music space or add visually appealing accessories. There’s also a hidden cord channel that runs the entire length of the unit so the guts of your setup aren’t visible.
Audiophiles may also notice the play on words present in the Open 45’s name, as it nods to both the 45-degree angle that the credenza displays records and, of course, the 45 RPM singles that record collectors love. It’s displayed in solid oak with gold legs but several customization options are available, from laquard black legs to a white oak color scheme and even varying heights. A pricing request form can be filled on on Geology Studios’ website.
