Another horror flick from The Conjuring Universe franchise is on the way. Four years after The Nun grossed over $350 million USD at the box office, the rollout for its sequel, the ninth installment in the overarching Conjuring franchise, has begun.

Directed by Michael Chaves, the film was written by Akela Cooper, Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing. The Nun 2 will see Sister Irene (played by Taissa Farmiga) make her return to once again face off against the demonic force Nun named Valak.

Few additional details are known about the plot but filmmakers have shared the first production stills from the project. The photos offer fans a preview of Sister Irene encountering the Nun in a doorway, while another set of stills seemingly shows a young girl being possessed.

As for the cast of The Nun 2, Bonnie Aarons and Jonas Bloquet will reprise their roles as the Nun and Frenchie, respectively. Storm Reid, Anna Popplewell and Katelyn Rose Downey are newcomers to the series’ roster.

The Nun 2 arrives in theaters on September 8.

In other entertainment news, The Office is receiving an Australian adaptation.
