Since its debut in 2021 via the 2002R “Rain Cloud,” the raw aesthetic of the New Balance “Protection Pack” has held its appeal, leading to the development of a number of alternate colorways. Last year, the intentionally disheveled look carried over to the New Balance 1906R silhouette, a reimagined retro runner which opts for an isolated ABZORB gel cushioning unit beneath the heel instead of the full-length seen on the original 1906.

Fast-forward to day, the 1906R “Protection Pack” now continues to grow with two monochromatic “White” and “Black” colorways. The upcoming pairs arrive in mesh uppers with rugged leather overlays and N-Lock logos. Plastic guards reinforce the heel and rounding out the design are Ortholite insoles and classic N-ERGY sole units equipped with ABZORB SBS heel cushioning.

Take a first look at the upcoming New Balance 1906R “Protection Pack” additions above and stay tuned for release details.
