Alexander McQueen Crafts Sharply Dissected Tailoring for Pre-FW23

With spliced silhouettes and elegant detailing.

Over the past few seasons, it has become clear that Sarah Burton’s vision of the Alexander McQueen man is one of unputdownable tailoring. But the brand’s latest for the Pre-Fall/Winter 2023 season looks to dissect the silhouette a tad while still retaining its sophisticated craftsmanship.

With dissected tailoring as the thematic driver, the collection’s cuts take form by splicing silhouettes with a minimal gaze. Whether it be complete suits, elongated buttonless suit jackets or overcoats, the pieces appear almost sculpted to the body – revealing a keen attention to precision cuts and sharp lines. What also elevates the pieces are provocatively subtle details like waist cutouts, flared tails and draped lapels. One of the tailored highlights includes a black wool barathea layered single-breasted jacket with cigarette pants.

Although classic-colored tailored pieces maintain a sense of regality and timelessness, the colored options are just as sweet. Other double-breasted jackets, suits, overcoats and wrap coats come in shades of merlot, electric blue and multicolored solarized flower print viscose cady with crystal embroidery. Elsewhere in the collection are beaded bomber jackets, wide-shoulder structured shirts, mixed denim/leather jackets, leather jackets and cutout knitwear. Rounding out the collection is a selection of accessories like leather boots with silver toe caps, knuckle satchels and jewelry.

Take a look at the offering in the gallery above. Alexander McQueen’s Pre-Fall/Winter 2023 collection is available now in-store and online.
