NDPD Debuts Flamin' Hot 1100°C Sneaker
The upstart footwear brand is “back from the year 2333” with their aged, distressed and flame-embellished designs.
New Directions to the Parallel Dimension (or NDPD for short) is a new sneaker brand that fancies itself ahead of the curve. One of its recent Instagram posts states, in Daniel Arsham-esque fashion, that its footwear offerings are “back from the year 2333.” Now, these from-the-future shoes have touched down for the first time as NDPD has officially debuted high and low top versions of a flamin’ hot model that they’re calling the 1100°C.
Following in the vein of brands like Kool Ky, One In the Chamber and John Geiger Co., NDPD’s shoes take a familiar model (in this case, models) and reimagine it with alternate details. The 1100°C features a color scheme and overall upper shape reminiscent of the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago,” a reference that’s seemingly explored further with cheeky heel branding. The flame graphic on the midfoot is somewhat reminiscent of the fireball on the Block Runner sneaker produced by YG’s 4Hunnid label, while the aged, melted and warped detailing on the midsole and outsole is almost Maison Margiela or Maison Mihara Yasuhiro-esque.
The 1100°C will be available exclusively through Sneakertopia at the ArtScience Museum in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore starting on April 8. The high and low-top models have each been produced in a run of 50, and retail for $700 USD.
