Zion Wright and Vans Are Launching A New Zahba Colorway
Wright will also be leading a skate session with the Harold Hunter Foundation to celebrate the launch.
Zion Wright is one of skateboarding’s brightest young stars. At only 24 years old, he’s been a part of the US Olympic skate team, dropped hammers in videos like Jupiter Rising and True to Form and become a key part of Vans‘ skate team. Now, Wright is continuing his rise by dropping his latest collaborative sneaker with Vans Skateboarding: a custom take on the Zahba.
The Zahba is one of the newest models in the Vans Skateboarding roster, and features tech like a drop-in VR3 Cush midsole — made of at least 30% recycled materials — ImpactWaffle cushioning and SickStick rubber. Its looks stack up with its advanced skate tech as well, with Wright dressing it in a black-and-brown color scheme while also adding custom logos on the lateral heel, heel tab and insole. These custom graphics nod to his hometown of Jupiter, Florida (the Roman numerals on the heel even represent Jupiter’s area code), and the inspiration continues to a matching collection of apparel that includes a lightweight jacket, t-shirt, pants and shorts. Vans has also produced a short film titled We’re From Here to celebrate the release and Wright’s connection to his hometown.

Wright’s take on the Vans Zahba will release via the Vans webstore and select Vans Skateboarding stockists come March 16 and is priced at $100 USD. To accompany the release, Wright will host a skate session with the Harold Hunter Foundation at Vans’ Skate Space 198 in Brooklyn on the 16th, RSVPs for which are open now.
