Mizuno Unveils Its Revitalized Wave Mujin TL GTX for SS23
With the campaign heading to one of the last active volcanoes in Europe.
Quickly following up from its newly-introduced Wave Prophecy LS in “Black/Black,” Japanese footwear label Mizuno has just presented its latest Wave Mujin TL GTX silhouette for Spring/Summer 2023.
As a whole, the new sneaker maintains a similar concept to its predecessor, however this time, its leather detailing has been applied via a brand-new thermo-transfer layering technique. With this being said, the new style has been put together with a combination of a road running upper and a trail performance sole to offer a versatile performance shoe that can be worn across various terrains.
Additionally, the shoe also includes GORE-TEX fabrications across the upper, while its design is also based on a collection of unreleased sketches from illustrator and designer, Tuan Lee. The upper’s design comes with further camouflage detailing that’s paired with a trail sole in Mizuno’s classic “Optical White” hue.
For the campaign, Mizuno headed to the lands of Italy — and more specifically, to the top of the Etna, one of the last active volcanos in Europe. The shoot aims to merge the surreal natural landscape of the volcano along with its force of nature with the earthy and neutral color palette of the new Mizuno designs.
