Pharrell Williams‘ global digital-first auction house, JOOPITER has officially announced its first dedicated high jewelry auction, A Journey Through Gems. The auction is presented in partnership with world-renowned American high jewelry designer and third-generation diamond dealer, Lorraine Schwartz.
Schwartz has long had a reputation in the industry for bringing some of the most coveted high jewelry pieces and bespoke designs to A-list celebrities. Adorned on industry icons, her work is often seen on red carpets, dazzling the world with every photographer’s flash. The A Journey Through Gems auction will feature a selection of the world’s rarest stones and one-of-a-kind creations throughout Schwartz’s career. Amongst the pieces auctions, standout gems include a showstopping 50-carat D Flawless Typ IIa heart-shaped loose diamond, a pair of 18k white gold, four-panel diamond shape earrings with natural purple sapphire, natural paraiba and diamonds, as well as an 18k white gold diamond and Colombian emerald bib necklace with matching earrings.
Pharrell himself co-designed a select number of lots with Schwartz, including a highly sought-after 26-carat Asscher-cut canary yellow diamond ring. In a statement regarding her upcoming partnership with JOOPITER, Schwartz said, “I was lucky enough to meet Pharrell over 20 years ago, and we’ve built an incredible friendship through a mutual appreciation for the most exquisite and unique gems in the world. To me, A Journey Through Gems is not only a curation of the finest bespoke high jewelry available now, but also the story of our journey and relationship as told through gems. I am excited to partner with JOOPITER for this once-in-a-lifetime sale, bringing access to these gems and their provenance to a global audience.”
A Journey Through Gems auction is open for global bidding starting on March 17 online at JOOPITER. A private preview will be taken place in Hong Kong during the time of Art Basel at the end of March, its first physical activation outside of the U.S.
