London College of Fashion and Fashion East alumni Maximilian Davis has well and truly reshaped the near-100-year-old luxury Italian label, Ferragamo. His vision is underpinned by British nuances and techy touches, giving luxe a tactile edge. Exploring this is the House’s new footwear style, introducing three combat boots.

Comprising low and high silhouettes, the new combat boot arrives in utilitarian hues of “White/Black,” “Flame Red/Black,” and for the hightops, simply black.

Either way, you get a Davis-penned design cut with angular dimensions crafted out of lightly hairy suede and a rough rubber bumper running around the lower perimeter of each pair. Rubberized leather has been used for the pull tabs on the rear, while rope laces, a square toe, and an ultra-light lugged rubber sole unit add further conflicting elements of formality meeting technicality.

Likewise, a silver-toned metal lace dubrae reading off the brand’s moniker sits at the vamp, while premium finishing touches include the stamp-branding on the tongue, inside on the leather insole, and once more on the outsole.

Aside from the shoes objectively falling well within current footwear trends, which has seen designs from Diemme, Our Legacy and Bottega Veneta populate the feet of the it-crowd in recent times, these shoes also mark a momentous occasion for the brand. They arrived during Davis’ debut Spring/Summer 2023 show, and pair well with the clothing in the collection that also bridges the gap between luxury and sportswear.

Ferragamo’s combat boots can be seen in the gallery above and bought online or in boutiques globally now.
