Maison Margiela Drops a $510 USD Sheer Face Mask
Fencing, but make it chic.
John Galliano is the unorthodox Creative Director of Maison Margiela, using historical references to twist today’s fashion scene with nods to the Renaissance period and more opulent times. Complementing such themes is the House’s new range of face masks, which you can see above.
The face mask comes in three forms — all at different price points. It starts with the $510 USD sheer white piece, which covers the face in a veil of translucence. Likewise, a black version comes in at $250 USD. Per the website, it’s described to “play with identity; this fabric mask lightly covers the face in stretchy georgette.”
Lastly, Maison Margiela delivers the $210 USD “Palladium” version, with the key difference here being it is made from polyester rather than the more luxurious materials found with the former two. Regardless of the style you opt for, each has ruching on the rear thanks to the unique tie mechanism, and pleats that curve and warp the face.
