A. Lange & Sӧhne Unveils Its First Self-Winding Chronograph at Watches & Wonders 2023
Introducing the limited-edition Odysseus Chronograph.
At Watches & Wonders in Geneva, A. Lange & Söhne reveals the Odysseus Chronograph, its first self-winding chronograph offering.
Back in 2019, the luxury watchmaker launched the initial Odysseus model, which was also its first piece timepiece in a sporty yet elegant design with a customized calibre L155.1 DATOMATIC. Dubbed by the Maison as the sequel to the 2019 watch, the Odysseus Chronograph premieres a newly developed L156.1 self-winding movement. Completely assembled and decorated by hand, the calibre is configured with a skeletonized and unidirectional winding central rotor that is partially crafted in black rhodium. The chronograph runs up to 50 hours when fully wound, beating at a frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations every hour.
The design of the Odysseus Chronograph emphasizes on openness and lightness of its defining features. Attired in a stainless steel case, the piece measures 42.5mm in diameter, with a height of 12.2mm. Its bezel comes in a rather narrow design, which in turn allows for a larger dial display that encompasses date and day indications.
Speaking on the new timepiece, Anthony de Haas, the director of product development at A. Lange & Söhne explains, “The Odysseus Chronograph transports the contemporary and one-of-a-kind design of the watch family to a new technical dimension. It meets all the requirements of a stopwatch suitable for many fields of application, without relinquishing the hallmarks of Lange precision watchmaking.”
The Odysseus Chronograph is released in a limited edition of 100 pieces, exclusive to A. Lange & Söhn’s boutiques. Head to the brand’s official website to inquire about its price.
