S’YTE has launched its latest Spring Summer 2023 collection. The label which is closely affiliated with the YOHJI YAMAMOTO brand and carried on the SHOP YOHJI YAMAMOTO online store is renowned for echoing the famed Japanese designer’s avant-garde designs and high concept lookbooks. For SS23, the label harnesses inspiration from the artisanal elements of old-world garments, specifically pieces from military and biker culture which are tried-and-true design tropes from the Japanese fashion house. The fabrics utilized in the latest collection also have louche elements which drape effortlessly on the body for relaxed, genderless-inspired looks.

Immediate standouts from the range are the loosely tailored jackets and coats. A colorblocked blazer featuring stripes and various shades of greys highlight the tailoring story of the entire collection. There are other long jackets as well featuring similar wide draping including a biker-inspired jacket that boasts zippered details. Elsewhere, is a Sukajan bomber jacket in satin embroidered with a colorful parrot motif for a vibrant pop. There’s a denim set with a frog-button shirt and wide-legged trousers, as well as a purple to black gradient set that echoes S’YTE’s exotic ethos.

The label carries a rebellious spirit not just in terms of appearance but also in construction. SS23 sees unfinished edges on jackets and bottoms, mixed plaids, intricate paisley patterns and metal embellishments for an edgier feel. For accessories, S’YTE includes rosary beads and necklaces crafted from black beads with silver and crystal. Bags are also added in the mix in the form of macramé woven bags which will also be offered in S’YTE’s “matte black” series
