C.P. Company Taps Kano For Limited-Edition Metropolis Series Field Jacket

Known for its long-standing presence amongst British subcultures, C.P. Company now unveils its latest collaboration with legendary UK artist Kano, launching exclusively at retailer FLANNELS.
Designed by Kano himself, the drop includes a one-off Field Jacket from the brand’s Metropolis Series, arriving in an all-black colorway for the first time. Exploring the similarities between the artist’s disruptive approach to music and the brand’s legacy in pushing the boundaries of design, the collaborative piece honors the two icons in their respective realms. As well as keeping the same technical qualities such as a GORE-TEX 3L fabrication on the outer layer, its design cues pay homage to Kano’s musical journey with interior details referencing his original studio sessions during the production of his critically-acclaimed album Hoodies All Summer which features handwritten notes from his board tapes.
Speaking on the process with the heritage Italian label, Kano shares, “For the design of the jacket, I was inspired by the detailed construction and newly developed processes that C.P. Company are renowned for,” he continues. “To bring this concept to life, board tapes from studio sessions have been developed into the bias binding used for the inside construction of this Field jacket, giving you a window into the meticulous detail it takes to produce an iconic piece.”
With any partnership, a mutual appreciation for each other’s craft is key, and this collaboration is no different. “Collaboration is only authentic when there’s a genuine synergy between two minds,” Kano explains. The campaign video follows the creative process behind making the jacket. Set between London and Milan, the visuals contrast the two cities and see the artist navigate from the design studio to the street alongside the brand’s president, Lorenzo Osti.
To celebrate the launch, FLANNELS will be hosting “Tapes Redefined” — a night of live music curated by Kano. The lineup features a selection of artists and an all-female DJ roster who have all had a hand in shaping London’s distinctive sound.
