You Can Now Shop BODE's SS23 Menswear
Slow pieces for a quiet and relaxed way of life.
Emily Adams Bode Aujla‘s eponymous label, BODE, takes a quiet approach to menswear. So unassuming, in fact, that it has been dropping plenty of Spring/Summer 2023 goodness behind our backs, building three pages of slow menswear on its website.
Some of the garments and accessories are stock from Spring 2023’s drop, while others — like the Foilage Vest — bring vintage apparel to the fore. This particular piece looks at designs from the 1940-1960s, reproduced faithfully in brown Merino wool before being embroidered and knitted with panels of green and yellow, and trimmed in a matching crochet v-neck lining.
Antique quilts from the early 1800s inspired the familiar Criss Cross Quilt Jacket, here appearing in an authentic mix of brown calicoes and floral embellishments across the outerwear staple. Likewise, trousers of a matching theme continue the historical cues, as does the filigree-style filet lace tablecloth shirt, threadwork shirt, and scalloped tops.
Bringing in a New York workwear sensibility, we find cardigans given a double-breasted finish, twill car jackets, and canvas high top espadrilles, sitting alongside a medley of rugby polo tops, Jumping Jockey rugby shorts, and wide-leg pants.
The SS23 drop, as a whole, works as a wardrobe — and what a wardrobe it’d be to be clothed in BODE only. From crewnecks embroidered with retro island postcard prints to T-shirts beaded with the brand’s moniker, the collection presents layers upon layers and accessories that work interchangeably no matter what you pick as the core piece.
