Kunichi Nomura's TRIPSTER Takes on the Vans ComfyCush Authentic
Coming in “Stable Black,” “Passionate Red,” and “Pure Light Gray.”
Taking to Instagram, Japanese creative Kunichi Nomura shared TRIPSTER‘s upcoming collaboration with Vans. Delayed for three years due to the pandemic, the team-up sees Nomura’s label offer its rendition of the Vans ComfyCush Authentic.
Offered in “Stable Black,” “Passionate Red,” and “Pure Light Gray,” the TRIPSTER x Vans ComfyCush Authentic expresses a deceivingly minimalist design marked by a mixed construction and subtle details. The upper of the shoes feature rugged nylon mesh bases paired with matching suede at the toe region and contrast color heel counters at the rear. Additional detailing comes in the form of exposed padded tongues, tape measure branded laces, and printed ComfyCush sole units.
Further branding includes co-branded tongue tags, Vans tags at the midfoot, and the usual license plate badges at the back of the sole foxing. Finishing of the design of the shoe is pinstripe marked sole foxing covering the midsoles, knurled toe guards, and gum rubber waffle outsoles.
Priced at ¥12,100 JPY (approximately $92 USD), Kunichi Nomura’s TRIPSTER x Vans ComfyCush Authentic collaboration will be available at retailers in Japan starting March 25, with a wider release in South Korea, Thailand, and China via Vans, and North America release on Boys of Summer.
