Sacai Announces First Exclusive Collaboration With WTAPS
Featuring a range of utilitarian designs.
Launching at the end of the month, Japanese brands sacai and WTAPS have come together for the first time, uniting for an exclusive collaboration.
The capsule collection is slated to feature a utilitarian design, following basic military shapes for its two-piece shirt and pants collection. Tying together both brands’ unique motifs, the garments follow WTAPS’s workwear fabrics with sacai’s use of satin. Merging together each brand’s typical structures and designs, the products become intricately amalgamated in techniques, giving the perfect combination of both. The shirt is based on the WMILL-LS 01 and 02 structure, while the six-pocket trousers utilize the WMILL-Trouser 01 and 02 as the base.
The utilitarian effect is highlighted in the color, where the pieces are featured in an army green tone. The jacket features a bomber-like jacket silhouette, featuring corduroy collars for the added workwear aesthetic. An added feature sees the brand tag stitched with a single white thread, a nod to the MILL series. The pieces also give off a worn aesthetic.
The sacai x WTAPS collaboration is available exclusively at Hello sacai and are not available in other retailers or online at sacai or WTAPS. Those looking to purchase the products will need to enter a raffle for the in-store purchase which will begin on March 24.
