UFC Releases Countdown Feature for the Return of Jon Jones
Who faces Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight belt.
On March 4, Jon Jones, the former Lightweight Champion who many recognize as the greatest UFC fighter of all time, will be returning to the Octagon after an almost two-year hiatus. Moving up to heavyweight for the first time to challenge for the vacant belt, Jones will be facing Frenchman Ciryl Gane who comes off a stunning knockout victory over Tai Tuivasa.
The last time Jones competed was at UFC 247, in which he edged out a close decision victory over Dominick Reyes. After he chose to step away from the promotion due to undisclosed disputes with management, he now returns to fulfill his long-time wishes of competing in the UFC’s heaviest weight class. Following this heavyweight bout, it’s likely that former champion Stipe Miocic will face the winner. The co-main event will see flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko defend her belt against Alexa Grasso.
