Premier gaming hardware company Razer has unveiled its newest innovation which it hails as the best lightweight performance gaming mouse ever created. Exploring a “honeycomb” style design for the first time, the Viper Mini Signature Edition is by far the lightest mouse on Razer’s roster weighing in at just 49 grams.

To achieve significant weight reductions, Viper Mini Signature Edition is constructed in an intricate and durable design crafted from high-grade magnesium alloy, a material said to be more durable and rigid than plastic, yet lighter than titanium. The new wireless gaming mouse will also be equipped with the latest tech including the Razer Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor, Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3,  HyperSpeed Wireless, HyperPolling Wireless with 4000Hz polling rates, and a 2C charge rating allowing for the device to power up fully in under 90 minutes. For added assurance, the product comes with Razer’s first-ever 3-year warranty.

“We wanted to push beyond the traditional honeycomb design, and this required a material with an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio,” said Charlie Bolton, Razer’s Head of Industrial Design. “After evaluating plastics, carbon fiber and even titanium, we ultimately chose magnesium alloy for its exceptional properties.”

The Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition mouse will be available exclusively via Razer’s website on February 11 for $280 USD.
