Missy Elliott, A Tribe Called Quest and More Nominated for 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Elliott is nominated in her first year of eligibility.
The nominees for this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class has been unveiled.
The extensive list includes five-time nominees Rage Against the Machine, four-time nominees Kate Bush and The Spinners, two-time nominees Soundgarden, A Tribe Called Quest and Iron Maiden, as well as Missy Elliott, the White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, Joy Division/New Order, Sheryl Crow, Warren Zevon and Willie Nelson; Elliott and the White Stripes are nominated in their first year of eligibility.
“This remarkable list of nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, said in a statement. “These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
The Class of 2023 is set to be revealed in May, with the induction ceremony taking place some time this year.
