Razer has unveiled the Basilisk V4 Pro, the newest flagship in its ergonomic wireless gaming mouse line and what the brand bills as the series’ biggest upgrade yet. The right-handed mouse keeps the Basilisk’s signature thumb rest and multi-function trigger while overhauling nearly everything underneath, from the sensor and wireless stack to the scroll wheel and button layout.
Tracking runs through Razer’s new Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3, which tops out at 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS and 90G of acceleration. Its Frame Sync feature times sensor scans to the moment data is reported, trimming latency. Players can tune sensitivity in single-DPI steps, set separate lift-off and landing distances across 26 levels with Asymmetric Cut-off, and let Smart Tracking auto-calibrate lift-off on any surface. A Sensitivity Matcher tool ports DPI settings over from a previous mouse, while a Rotation Tool corrects for angled swipes.
On the wireless side, HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 is paired with Razer HyperPolling, which the brand says makes wireless 48% more efficient, enabling true 8,000 Hz polling and cutting latency by 23% over the last generation. Battery life stretches to as long as 200 hours. The mouse connects five ways, across the HyperSpeed dongle, Bluetooth 6.2 with up to three paired devices, and a wired mode, so one mouse can move between a gaming PC, laptop and tablet. The 2-in-1 dongle can also link a compatible Razer keyboard, freeing up a USB port.
The HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2 is one of the bigger hands-on changes. Alongside the four-way tilt, it now offers four scrolling modes: a 24-step Tactile mode for cycling weapons and abilities, a new 48-step Precision Tactile mode for finer menu navigation, a Free-Spin mode for fast scrolling and Smart-Reel, which switches between notched and free-spinning based on scroll speed. Smart-Reel’s trigger force and a separate scroll acceleration setting can each be tuned across five levels in Razer Synapse.
The button count climbs to 14 customizable controls, including a new M1 edge button and three dedicated side buttons alongside the returning multi-function trigger. Out of the box, the side buttons default to Mouse Button 4, Mouse Button 5 and AI Prompt Master, a dedicated AI shortcut, and every control can be remapped. Razer’s Hypershift feature layers a secondary function onto each button, effectively doubling the command set.
Perfect 180 is the feature built for competitive shooters. The bindable button triggers an instant 180-degree turn, letting low-sensitivity FPS players spin to face threats behind them without a full arm swipe. Accuracy depends on matching in-game sensitivity to the mouse’s Synapse settings.
Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-4 sit under the main buttons, rated for over 100 million clicks with no double-click issues or debounce delay. Seven-zone Razer Chroma RGB lighting, including a full underglow, syncs with more than 300 integrated games and other Chroma devices. The Basilisk V4 Pro also supports wireless charging: swapping its cover puck for the one bundled with the Razer Mouse Dock V2 Pro, or using the Razer HyperFlux V2, lets the mouse charge on its pad. Both are sold separately.
The Razer Basilisk V4 Pro is available now via online, at RazerStores and authorized Razer retailers worldwide.
