SUBU and NANGA have joined forces on the AURORA-TEX Winter Sandal, a cold-weather slip-on that wraps SUBU’s padded silhouette in NANGA’s proprietary technical fabric. The result is a sandal designed for winter wear, whether that means a campsite morning or a quick run to the corner store.
The upper is made entirely of nylon and treated with AURORA-TEX, the waterproof and breathable material NANGA developed for its own outdoor gear. The fabric helps keep rain from soaking through while letting moisture escape, which matters for a shoe made to be worn without socks. Black covers the whole shell for a clean, utilitarian look.
The inside is where the sandal earns its winter credentials. NANGA and SUBU line the footbed area with a brushed, napped fabric printed in an abstract camouflage pattern, giving the interior a soft hand that holds body heat in. Underfoot, a four-layer insole builds up a deep cushion that feels far closer to a slipper than a typical sandal. A synthetic outsole handles grip and durability.
