One of the latest Nike sneakers to receive a collaboration-backed resurgence, the Air Penny 2 has made all sorts of noise since making a comeback courtesy of Social Status’ “Playground” collection. Appearing in an assortment of colorways — including two collaborative capsules with StüssyPenny Hardaway’s signature kicks have undoubtedly made their mark on today’s footwear scene. Now, as we await the official reveal of the Stüssy x Nike Air Penny 2 “Fossil,” a “Wheat Gold” colorway has hit the net courtesy of the Swoosh.

In one of the silhouette’s brightest colorways of recent, its titular “Wheat Gold” is joined by “Safety Orange” accents, hits of “Coconut Milk” and touches of black. Its material composition spans from canvas to leather with suede also making an appearance. Black covers the uppermost layer — gracing the laces, tongue and lining — while also landing on the rubber outsole. Between this, the aforementioned colors interact from the Air Penny 2’s signature wavy midsole in “Coconut Milk” to the golden upper.

As of now, a release date for the Nike Air Penny 2 “Wheat Gold” has not been set. Look for it to launch via Nike and select retailers in the coming months at a price of $200 USD.

For more in the world of footwear, the Nike ISPA Mindbody has popped up in an electric “Volt” colorway that features printing from biomaterials company Living Ink.
