Nike Presents New Air Max Plus Sneaker Inspired By The Nation of Brazil
Following Brazil’s 2006-released World Cup Air Max 95.
Nike is continuing its close affiliation with the Brazilian national football team with a new iteration of its Air Max Plus.
The Swoosh and Brazil have been close collaborators since 1996 and have worked together over a total of seven World Cup competitions. During that time, Nike has designed some of the cleanest football jerseys to hit the pitch — check out the 1998 home jersey for proof of that — and this new sneaker takes inspiration from the classic colors of the team’s jersey and national flag.
This latest installment from Nike also follows the 2006-released World Cup Air Max 95, a sneaker that took inspiration from the Seleção’s national colors and featured the Brazilian Football Confederation’s logo on the tongue. However, this new design hits the TN’s sleek silhouette with a predominately white base and durable rubber outsole.
Complemented with a “White/Citron/Pulse Black/Hyper Royal” color scheme, the combination of hues hit the upper’s cage, while the colors transition from yellow, to green, to blue across the shoe’s heel, lateral sides, upper, and toe box. Additionally, the shoe is also designed with white leather mudguards — which are the same color as the laces — and white plastic toe caps.
You can take a closer look at the new Nike Air Max Plus above and it will be available on the official Nike website and with select retailers in the coming months.
