As Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 prepares to launch season 2, it offers a deep dive into Ashika Island, a new map for the highly-requested Resurgence battle royale mode which is said to be significantly smaller than the Al Mazrah map. As opposed to Warzone‘s traditional battle royale mode, players knocked down in Resurgence won’t have to duke it out in the Gulag. Instead, they can be respawned by a teammate for a certain amount of time which increases after each subsequent death.

Originally built to be a resort destination, development for Ashika Island was halted in the mid-’90s for reasons that remain undisclosed. Since that time, travel to the location has been heavily restricted. Latest reports indicate that the isle is being used as a hub for the Ultranationalist Konni Group to transport chemical and biological weapons.

The map is often cast under drab weather conditions with the northwestern sector composed of mixed agricultural, residential, and industrial use. A shallow sandy beach with half-sunk barriers offers access to the main island, and features of the map include a harbor with a floating gas station to refuel aquatic vehicles, a hotel equipped with a sushi bar, an underwater submarine base, an aquarium, an ancient castle stronghold erected alongside a trio of SAM batteries, and much more.

Take a detailed look at Ashika Island here. The map officially launches on Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 this February 15 with Season 02.
