Daniel W. Fletcher Explores Britain's Swingin' Sixties for SS23
One of Britain’s finest designers strikes gold again.
One of the UK’s brightest designers, Daniel W. Fletcher has just presented his new Spring/Summer 2023 collection and it takes inspiration from iconic British figures from the past and present, that have made Britain’s capital their home.
Throughout London, there are many places of tailoring excellence; from the streetwear-packed backstreets of Soho to the more intricately-delivered designs seen on Savile Row, Fletcher’s latest collection takes inspiration from all.
Working with an assemblage of deadstock fabrics, collection highlights are crafted from silk — seen best on the rowing blazer, paired with pajamas — while other styles lean into Punk Rock Britain with dark leather and metal studs used across mini skirts and clean-cutting outerwear pieces.
Furthermore, the collection also sees Fletcher experiment with schoolboy shorts, while other styles appear to adopt a Scottish-like essence through the use of Plaid patterning on both long-flowing jackets and tailored waistcoats.
The easily-wearable collection continues to impress with split hem trousers, and other styles that don’t shy away from flaunting a whole lot of skin — such as the exposed stitching vest — add yet another element of Sixties Britain to the fold.
