Original Story: Every year, COMME des GARÇONS will partner up with Nike to cook up an array of footwear collaborations. The Japanese brand tends to venture into the realm of obscure Swoosh silhouettes and reintroduce them through its own lens such as the Air Max Sunders and the Nike Eagle. And this year it’s slated to add to its repertoire of unorthodox team-ups with a COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus x Nike Air Pegasus 2005 capsule.
There are two pairs in this collection, both of which go for a monochromatic and understated aesthetic. One is done up with an all-black get-up while the other arrives in angelic, all-white garb. The most drastic edit that the Japanese label makes with the silhouette is related to the quarter panels. Instead of retaining the silhouette’s usual quarter overlays, the brand discards them and opts for a smooth leather panel for a cleaner look. Branding is minimal and arrives in the form of “Air Pegasus” spell-outs printed across the leather-infused islands that rest on the mesh tongues while the footbeds are printed with COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus hits that are surrounded by Swooshes.
No release info has been announced just yet, but you can likely expect these to launch in the coming months.
