Update: Following our initial preview of Action Bronson’s colorful take on the New Balance 990v6, Poggy has revealed a closer look. Release details have not been disclosed — aside from its previously stated release year of 2023 — so stay tuned for more information and check out our previous coverage below.
Original Story: Despite the fact that adidas canceled his friends and family UltraBOOST collaboration, Action Bronson has still managed to stay close to the realm of footwear collaborations by executing a partnership with New Balance. Back in September, the American rapper and foodie quietly teased his forthcoming creation by rocking his collaborative pair in during an AEW wrestling match. Fast forward a couple of months later, he’s now taken to Instagram to provide an initial look at the pair.
For this initiative, Action Bronson has worked with the popular sportswear company on a wild New Balance 990v6 makeup. To match up with his high-spirited personality, he’s taken the “dad shoe” and spruced it up with a multi-colored orchestration. Uppers are generated with a medley of materials and colors such as volt mesh backdrops, brown leather quarter panels, murky olive mudguards and purple and pink hiking laces. Tongues swap out their traditional New Balance moniker for a “Baklava” hit that references his recently-launched digital marketplace titled Baklava Flea Market. ENCAP-cushioned bottoms add to its playfulness by getting fitted in various shades of blue.
A release is confirmed to go down in 2023 via New Balance so check out a closer look at the pair above while you wait on their arrival.
