MARKET Rejoins Pokémon for Character-Covered Capsule
Featuring everything from a rhinestone-adorned Butterfree hoodie to a Snorlax skull beanie.
Los Angeles-based brand MARKET has been a disruptor in the streetwear scene for years thanks to its various collaborations and collections. One partnership the label continues to lean on includes Pokémon. Linking with the fan favorite franchise across recent years, the two reunited for a fall capsule that highlights seven Pokémon across nine styles.
Leading the range, Mimikyu — the disguise Pokémon — sits front and center on a brown jacquard knit sweater that utilizes subtle branding at the left sleeve. From there, Butterfree enters the mix on rhinestone-equipped tie-dye pieces in hoodie, t-shirt and 6-panel hat form. Jigglypuff similarly finds itself situated next to rhinestones as the balloon Pokémon sits on the front and back of a white tee. Meowth tears through the front of another dyed tee while also appearing on a skull beanie, a style that also sees Snorlax featured. Lastly, MARKET paid homage to the iconic battle between Gengar and Nidorino, first depicted at the title screen of Pokémon Red and Blue, placing the two on the back of an arc logo-equipped hoodie in black.
The latest collection between MARKET and Pokémon officially launched yesterday via MARKET. Prices start at $45 USD for the skull beanies and the Jigglypuff t-shirt and go up to $160 USD for the Mimikyu knit sweater.
