Update: It’s almost time for Matthew M Williams and his label 1017 ALYX 9SM to release its latest take on Nike’s Air Force 1. Ahead of release later this month, the Swoosh has just shared its official visual breakdown of both the all-white and all-black looks while also clarifying that its launch period begins on December 15 via the SNKRS app at a price of $155 USD each. For more info about the project, be sure to review our previous coverage below.

Update: Matthew M Williams has shared a set of images of the imminent 1017 ALYX 9SM x Nike Air Force 1 Low. After the design blueprint debuted at the end of last week, Williams took to Instagram to reveal the black and white colorways of the minimalistic sneaker. The design of the sneakers strongly resembles that indicated in the teased design plans; the deubré sees a customized ALYX x Nike co-branded design, and subtle ALYX logos are etched and engraved throughout. Take a closer look at the joints – expected to release before the end of the year – in the carousel below, and stay tuned for more updates as they surface.

Original Story: Matthew Williams, the creative director and co-founder of 1017 ALYX 9SM, as well as the creative director of Givenchy, has revealed a first look at an upcoming collaboration with Nike, using the Air Force 1 Low silhouette for the basis of the design.

The pair follows the Air Force 1 High, which was first revealed in 2018 and released in 2020, with several iterations released since. In comparison to the High, which featured the brand’s iconic roller coaster buckle, the Air Force 1 Low feels quite understated, as in its current form, it features no hardware outside of a co-branded deubré.

Other co-branding elements, likely to be printed, etched or stitched, appear at the lower portion of the heel on the lateral side of the shoe, at the tongue label and on the insoles. With the drawings in black and white, there is very little detail provided in terms of texture or material that will be used and at first glance, the difference between the ALYX pair and Nike’s inline AF1 are minimal.

Williams’ post did, however, mention that the 1017 ALYX 9SM x Nike Air Force 1 Low will be “coming soon,” which will hopefully mean more details will be shared soon as well.

See the official reveal from Williams below.
