Coral Studios Celebrates 10 Years With "The White Jacket"

As Coral Studios celebrates 10 years of existence, the brand-slash-creative-agency is paying homage to its biggest inspiration — coral reefs — with a highly detailed jacket. Dubbed “The White Jacket” and designed by Coral Studios co-founder Henrik Hiort, the jacket features airbrushed and ink-printed embellishments that wear away with time to show further hidden details, providing a metaphor for how the world’s coral reefs have been damaged by climate change.

The press release accompanying the jacket notes that it was inspired by “coral bleaching,” or the process of a coral reef expelling algae due to high exposure to warm water and changes in nutrients, a condition often brought on by climate change. Produced using what Coral Studios refers to as “sustainable” measures, it features a black leather body with a pink ombre on the sleeves and hem. A large, full-color jellyfish graphic covers the entirety of the back, while a warped Coral Studios logo appears on the left chest and a bright green Olde English hit is present on the right sleeve.
