A. SOCIETY x OFFGOD Offer Up Surrealist Sunglasses Capsule
Drawing design inspiration from OFFGOD’s Vern character.
Eyewear expert A. SOCIETY has collided with 18-year-old rising surrealist artist OFFGOD to present an otherworldly capsule of eyewear. Looking to “embrace the concept of co-existing with multiple identities,” a sentiment new-gen digital natives are all-too-familiar with, Andrew Mok (a.k.a. OFFGOD) designed three models of trippy glasses dubbed VERN, MORPH and FORM.
“The collection unveils Andrew’s new chapter through the recurring character of Vern — a fictional persona in the form of a supervillain that represents his current practice,” the collection’s description reads. The VERN model leads the riveting range, landing in yellow and crystal colorways, VERN melds form and functionality. Complete with pristine scratch-resistant nylon lenses, VERN’s ultimate selling point (at approximately $615 USD) aside from its avant-garde aesthetic? It’s compatible with your Apple AirPods Max Headphones.

In Mok’s own words: “Vern [is] a supervillain alter ego I’ve created, marking a new era not just in my appearance but my mindset. The mask represents going against the grain, thinking outside the box, not being scared of being judged by the general public but being daring enough to make something nobody has seen or wear something people would not normally wear. Especially living somewhere like Hong Kong where most people are taught to stay in line and keep your mouths shut. Vern is the inner voice that keeps telling me to push the boundaries and express freely through my art.”
MORPH and FORM models take more “toned down” approaches (and price tags, landing at roughly $292 USD and $164 USD, respectively) and each come with a set of silver magnetic art shapes that attach to the glasses.
