M.I.A. Surprises Fans With New Mixtape 'Bells Collection'
Following up on 2022’s ‘MATA’ LP.

M.I.A. has followed up last year’s MATA album with a new collection of work. The Sri Lankan-British rapper dropped Bells Collection, an assortment of 16 singles.
The project contains her previously released political track, “Free Pali,” along with the songs “Amen” and “Solitude.” Another single is entitled “Bella Hadid,” a nod to the Palestinian-Dutch supermodel.
“I present you a gift from the East, star of wonder star of night,” M.I.A. said about Bells Collection. “Beauty. Bright. Sacred. Cosmic. Magnetism. A collaboration with God.”
The mixtape also features Skrillex, Blaqstarr and Troy Baker and is only available to stream on M.I.A.’s website, ohmni.com. The rapper didn’t share the reasoning behind rolling it out exclusively on the site but it’s possible she anticipated censorship for its political messaging.
MATA debuted in October 2022 as her sixth studio LP, as well as her first album in six years, following 2016’s AIM.
