"Black Suede" Covers the Nike Cortez
A versatile finish for the retro silhouette.
The Nike Cortez is a key part of Nike’s DNA as one of its first shoes to ever hit the market. Sticking around for over 50 years, it continues to adopt new looks via in-line designs and collaborations. Recently, it has appeared in a special “Hangul Day” colorway and a shaggy “Green Suede.”
Adding to the sneaker’s colorway options, a “Black Suede” has been prepared for 2024. Its signature shape is covered in the rough material as black is contrasted by off-white at the leather Swooshes, laces, tongue and heel tab. Retro Nike branding can be spotted at both the tongue and heel while the sole unit utilizes its typical ripple sole as black and off-white combine to complete the pair.
At the time of writing, Nike has not yet disclosed any release details regarding this “Black Suede” colorway of the Cortez. Stay tuned for updates as it’s currently expected to play a role in the Swoosh’s plans for the spring of next year, launching via Nike and select retailers at a price of $100 USD.
