Netflix to Gamify More of Its Hit Shows
Including Squid Games and Wednesday, which will join over 70 other titles.

Netflix has come a long way from mailing out DVDs in red paper envelopes, which began in 1998. One of its biggest and most pivotal moves was the launch of Netflix Originals in 2009, offering exclusive films and series titles.
Over a decade later, the platform continues to lean into its original content and is expanding its reach into the mobile gaming sector, an initiative that first started with the launch of five games in 2021 for Android users and not long after iOS. A year later, in 2022, Netflix acquired its third mobile game development studio, Boss Fight Entertainment.
Looking at the present day, Netflix now has nearly 80 game titles, many of which are based on popular Netflix Originals and is said to be working on more, including mobile game offerings for Squid Game and Wednesday.
Some of the most notable, existing gaming offerings, include various Stranger Things titles, Vikings, Love Is Blind, Narcos, The Queen’s Gambit and more. See an example in the Vikings trailer below.
In related news, Netflix Games reportedly planning to release a Grand Theft Auto title.
