Skrillex Enlists PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd for New Track “Way Back”
On the heels of “Rumble” Featuring Fred again.. and Flowdan.
Earlier this week, Skrillex jumped back on the music scene with his song “Rumble” featuring Fred again.. and Flowdan, which marked his first single in over a year. Just that fast, the Los Angeles DJ is back with another cut called “Way Back.” But this time he enlisted the help of emerging pop star PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd.
Landing at one minute and 59 seconds, the short and sweet track blends the focal elements of all three artists. While Skrillex’s production skills open move throughout the entire piece, Trippie Redd then kicks off the piece with the chorus. Once the beat and chorus are introduced, PinkPantheress then comes discussing sentiments of love and understanding.
“I just walked tеn miles and every stop along my journey/I had wished that you might follow/You were never there behind me/I’ve got five minutes to cuff you, and I’m still waitin’ here for you,” sings PinkPantheress in the bridge.
The new tracks are most likely from Skrillex’s forthcoming double album, which is slated to release sometime this year. Additionally, the new work marks the DJ’s first solo album since his 2014 project, Recess.
