Nike Equips the Air Max 90 "Photon Dust" With GORE-TEX
The classic trainer is prepped for the rainy season to come.
When it comes to weatherproof technology, GORE-TEX is the first that comes to mind. The gold standard for handling the elements, GORE-TEX has remained a staple in countless brands’ repertoire. Now, following an Air Jordan 5 and collaborative UNDERCOVER x Nike Air Force 1/Air Revaderchi Hybrid sneaker with GORE-TEX detailing, Nike presents the Air Max 90 in a weatherproof colorway.
Named “Photon Dust,” this updated version of the Air Max 90 emphasizes its inclusion of GORE-TEX with traditional Air Max branding replaced by “GORE-TEX” at the tongue, lateral and medial. The heel and sockliner branding carry its standard Nike Air logo with a hit of a dull neon green. Elsewhere, the waterproof sneaker favors a blend of leather and textile on its upper while the color palette keeps things simple as various shades of gray outfit the sneaker.
While Nike has yet to share any release details for the Air Max 90 “Photon Dust,” its GORE-TEX upper points towards a Fall/Winter release date. Keep an eye out for an official announcement from the Swoosh in the coming weeks as Nike and select retailers are expected to carry the pair soon.
