Two elements of New Balance that have proven to bring in much success include the updating of old-school looks with a refreshed edge and deconstructing uppers with the “Protection Pack” colorways. Combining both of these, this New Balance 1906R colorway is poised to be a fan favorite. It is worth noting that this take on the silhouette hasn’t been officially given the “Protection Pack” designation but the inspiration is certainly there.

Favoring a primarily gray and off-white color palette, the 1906R is presented with a mixed material upper that begins with mesh at the base. From there, roughly cut gray suede overlays provide the signature “Protection Pack” look while the heel cage arrives in black. Matching the cage, black outfits the “N” logos, lining and rubber outsole that features Stability Web technology for added arch support. The ABZORB midsole arrives in off-white to round out some of the key details of this pair.

No information regarding the release date of this “Protection Pack” styled New Balance 1906R colorway has surfaced, however, it is expected to hit shelves via New Balance and select retailers priced at $150 USD. Take a first look at the pair above and expect official images to surface in the coming months alongside a release date.

In other footwear news, the New Balance 550 has been outfitted in white and gray once again with the new “Marblehead” colorway.
