When considering Vans footwear, the Old Skool is certainly one of the first models to come to mind. The starting point for the iconic “jazz stripe,” the Old Skool was ahead of its time in 1977 when it originally launched. Since then, plenty of colorways, collaborations and reworks have graced the model. Now, for 2022, Vans has opted to refresh the classic with an altered upper and new sole unit.

Named the Old Skool Overt CC, the focus of this iteration of the Old Skool is on a roomier, sporty fit. The oversized sole features a 360-degree sculpted midsole that offers a compression channel crumple zone and a rubber outsole plate for grip and traction. Additional comfort-oriented elements include a molded removable insole and extra foam at the collar, tongue and quarter panels. Initial colorways of the sneaker are a “Sand/White” and “Light Grey.”

For those interested in their own pair of the Vans Old Skool Overt CC, the official launch of the silhouette begins August 26 via Vans and select Vans retail locations. However, in the meantime, the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon x Vans Old Skool Overt CC is available now via Vans and select retailers.

Elsewhere in the world of footwear, Salehe Bembury has announced the Spunge x Vault by Vans Authentic collection.
