Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 574 "Conversations Amongst Us" Receives a Release Date
Crafted to look better with wear.
Following special iterations of the 2002R, 550, and KAWHI II silhouettes, Joe Freshgoods rounds out the New Balance “Conversations Amongst Us” pack with a minimalist take on the 574. The project is led by Freshgoods and was carried out by an all-Black product team named the Black Soles which aims to deliver an authentic story of the Black experience — connecting and inspiring creatives in every industry.
Designed to look better with wear, the upcoming pairs feature bone white leather and mesh uppers with a dashed NB-branded TPU piece securing the heel. Silver on black “N” logos run across the laterals and mismatched “Conversations” and “Amongst Us” text arrives on the heel tabs. Additional details include special New Balance Classic tongue tags incorporating faded text, and collection graphics on the insoles. Rounding out the design are stacked ENCAP midsoles and oxidized black rubber outsoles.
“In part, clothing has been a big part of our culture, influencing the streets and the runway. A culture where you are only as fresh as your white sneakers. Where we once worked to keep an all-white sneaker clean, free from dirt, scuffs, and scrapes,” commented Freshgoods. “This time we invite color. Lingering positivity and hope. The yellowing of an all-white shoe, that has been muddled, battered, and worn. Standing in resilience and reflection. Still existing with a story to tell. A story everyone should know. Let this collection be a conversation starter, for us. All of us. About it all.”
New Balance 574 “Conversations Amongst Us” is now available via atmos Tokyo with a global release to follow August 11 on the New Balance website and at select retailers.
