While trends often swing the release quantity of silhouettes from year to year, ASICS and the Gel-Lyte III have not wavered in its steady flow. The classic model continues to serve as the canvas for collaborations such as this year’s Sneaker Freaker x atmos and Sneaker Politics pairs. Now, ASICS is preparing to launch a “Wisteria” themed Gel-Lyte III OG. Drawing inspiration from the Wisteria tree which symbolizes long-life and immortality, ASICS has outfitted this pair to represent the tree’s vibrant color palette.

Connecting to ASICS’ Japanese roots, the plant can live for more than 100 years and is symbolic of everlasting wisdom in Japan. Constructed of multiple suedes on its upper, this Gel-Lyte III OG begins with a gray that is accented by thematic shades of lilac and cream. Standard to the Gel-Lyte III, signature GEL technology is found in the midsole, providing comfort in each step.

ASICS has not yet announced a release date for the Gel-Lyte III OG “Wisteria.” Take an official look at the pair above and look for it to hit shelves via ASICS and select retailers soon at a price of $130 USD.
