Sneaker Freaker is one of the most renowned and dedicated footwear-centric publications in the world, and its die-hard beliefs have often seen the Simon “Woody” Wood-helmed imprint work with sportswear labels to create authentic collaborations. We’ve seen it team up with ASICS on a friends and family GEL-LYTE III OG, New Balance on the 574, and Diadora, but now it returns to ASICS — along with atmos — for the release of its GEL-LYTE III OG “Alley Cats.”

Described by Sneaker Freaker as “a fitting feline footwear tribute to the mini-boulevards that criss-cross the respective hometowns of Sneaker Freaker and atmos,” this sneaker appears in a fetching mix of “Sheet Rock” and “Gentry Purple” before adding dashes of cream, white, and neon green.

Elsewhere, you’ll find matte aluminum eyelets, heel tabs branded with “Alley Cats” writing, unique footbeds, dual-branded tongue logos and glow-in-the-dark tiger stripes, while a rubberized latticework section has been added to the sidewalls and heel for a nod to the original GEL-LYTE III. Satin has been used for the sneaker’s inimitable tongue design, while hairy cowhide makes out the lower section of the mid-panel that works up to become part of the heel section.

Green and black rope laces, as well as plain black laces, can be swapped out to further accentuate the colors of this shoe, while glow-in-the-dark detailing will do all the work for you at night. Rounding out the sneaker is the dual-branded debossing on the gray suede heels.

Sneaker Freaker and atmos’ ASICS GEL-LYTE III OG “Alley Cats” retails for €160 EUR (approx. $166 USD) and will release at retailers such as Sivasdescalzo on July 4. Take a closer look at the pair above.
