Idris Elba Joins Labrum for Sierra Leone's Commonwealth Games Kit
Featuring a collaborative Clarks Originals Desert Boot limited to 50 pairs.

2022’s Commonwealth Games came to a close this August with Australia sitting atop the medal table once again. However, the event offered more than a demonstration of athletic prowess from nations as various national kits featured the creative brilliance of each nation’s designers. One such kit that stood out was Sierra Leone’s, designed in collaboration between Idris Elba and Foday Dumbuya, founder of menswear brand Labrum London. The kit emphasizes Sierra Leone’s colors of green, white and blue with wavy lines that draw inspiration from the waves coming back to the land. Expanding on this collection, this design approach was carried over to the Clarks Originals Desert Boot.
Sierra Leone’s Elba x Labrum designed kit includes both formal and sporty outerwear, bottoms, headwear and the collaborative boot. Fans of the iconic Clarks Originals Desert Boot will note its typical construction makes a return as the navy suede upper combines with a crepe sole. The primary panel of the upper carries a green to white wavy pattern on the lateral and a blue to white on the medial, drawing inspiration from the apparel kit. A co-branded tag notes Clarks Originals, Labrum and 2HR Set’s, Elba’s former label, involvement in this collaborative pair.
A specific release date for the Idris Elba x Labrum x Clarks Originals Desert Boot “Sierra Leone” has not yet been announced. However, the boot is limited to 50 pairs so keep an eye out for hit to hit shelves via Labrum soon.
In other footwear news, Clarks Originals’ first concept store has just opened in Tokyo, Japan.
