The Air Jordan 1 Elevate High Appears in an OG Black and White Color Scheme
A little bit of “Panda” and a whole lotta midsole.

Jordan Brand’s new Air Jordan 1 Elevate High is an “elevated” take on Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker — literally with its thick midsole, figuratively … well, that’s up to the viewer. The silhouette’s only recently been unveiled, but unlike past hybrids, which tend to take on wild color schemes, it’s stuck to a diet of classically-styled makeups. A “Varsity Red” makeup made the rounds earlier this month, and now we’ve been given a look at a crispy black and white colorway.
Though a younger generation of sneakerheads might be quick to dub this two-tone design “Panda” thanks to Nike’s ubiquitous, much-memed black and white Dunk Low, its style goes back much further. Black and white was first used on the Air Jordan 1 in 1985, so the Jumpman has injected a lot of history into this new model. Apart from the familiar color scheme, the Air Jordan 1 Elevate High offers plenty of new-age details. Besides the above-mentioned ultra-thick midsole and its “aged” tint, there’s also a special outlined version of Jordan Brand’s original ball-and-wings logo on the lateral collar and a large zipper running down the medial collar for enhanced ease of entry and removal.
At the time of writing, a release date for the Air Jordan 1 Elevate High in black and white has yet to be announced. However, it’s likely to touch down on SNKRS or the Nike webstore before 2022 is out.
