Vans and 'Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon' Come Together for Four-Part Collection
With playful color ways to honor the popular anime.
Famous skate brand Vans has teamed up with anime show Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon for a collection inspired by the tales of love and friendship throughout the legendary series. The collaboration reveals a four-part offering of footwear and apparel options for men, women and kids.
The Sk8-Hi footwear collection features satin textiles and overlays with smooth leather that’s decorated with Sailor Moon’s brooch and bow, a printed gradient sidewall, translucent heels and top bumpers with Sailor Guardian planet symbols. For the collection’s apparel line, various character graphics are incorporated all over. The women’s BFF Crew Fleece is designed after Sailor Moon’s suit, while the navy-colored men’s graphic short sleeve tee includes the main protagonist’s moon stick surrounded by the Vans checkerboard print. The collection also includes a purple mini backpack, a full sized printed backpack and a black hat.
Designed after The Lizzie, the Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon collection has a range of footwear, apparel and accessories that delivers a vintage aesthetic with a DIY-approach. With three different Vans Skate Classic; the Lizzie, the Skate Old Skool, and the Skate Slip-on all have a black and white punk inspired theme that blends with Van’s traditional styling. The apparel side of the collection offers a similar theme on a BFF-fit hoodie with checkerboard detailing down the sleeves. There’s also a reversible bucket hat that features the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon logo patch and checkerboard pattern on the reverse side.

To add to Van’s ComfyCush sneaker family, the two brands have created the all new Old Skool Overt CC. The model features the iconic checkerboard pattern in black and gray tones on the toe and accents of pink embroidery throughout the upper and foam sculpted midsole. Sailor Moon’s portrait and Luna, Sailor Moon’s partner, can also be seen sketched on the lateral quarters while Sailor Moon’s brooch is placed over the laces to finish the look. To achieve a more comfortable wear, the CC’s are made with a rubber outsole plate for grip, a removable insole and extra foam along the shoe’s collar, tongue and quarter panels.
The Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Classic and Skate collaborations are available now and the Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Old Skool Overt CC will release on July 22 on the Van’s website.
