Following its collaboration with Scandinavian label Rains, French heritage label Palladium works with Junya Watanabe COMME des GARÇONS MAN for a 75th-anniversary take on its signature Lace-Up Boots. Palladium was initially founded in 1920 as a producer of airplane tires and later transitioned to producing tough military boots for the elite french foreign legion.
Taking inspiration from the original Pallabrouse boot from 1947, the upcoming joint offering features a robust, lightweight, and water-resistant built for the most hostile environments. Uppers are found in tough nylon canvas with mismatched “JW CDG MAN” black military print and Japanese-style tiger embroidery on the laterals. A rubber Palladium logo piece decorates the medials and a French flag fabric tag is secured on the heel. A rubber mudguard wraps around the silhouette and white Palladium tags run across the tongue. Rounding out the design are deep-grooved platform outsoles.
The Junya Watanabe CDG MAN x Palladium Lace-Up Boots are now available at Cettire and other select dealers.
Elsewhere in footwear, Nike Air Max 97 “M. Frank Rudy” celebrates the creator of Nike Air cushioning.
