Bilt Card Introduces the Latest Entry in Its Artist Residency Program
Summer 2022 features the work of Mexican artist H.G. Schiavon.
When the Bilt card was first announced in 2021, the aim was to help people build their credit through a unique point system that awards members for their rent payments, travel, dining and more. In just over a years span, the startup has grown tremendously and has included a new artist residency program that is providing a much-needed voice for creatives around the world.
Every season is centered around a different emerging artist who is awarded a $12,500 USD award and a film crew to create a documentary on their practice. Additional perks include three to four custom pieces that the artist will showcase on the Bilt mobile app and its social media channels. Past artists include Irene Perez from Madrid, Vasjen Katro from Albania, Preston Paperboy from the U.K. and Malik Roberts from Brooklyn.
For Summer 2022, Bilt tapped emerging Mexican artist H.G. Schiavon, who created a series of gestural compositions reminiscent of the bright colors found in his home city of Puebla. Each of the artworks are available to purchase now for 25,000 Bilt points via the app.
As with each season, Bilt’s overarching goal is to empower artists around the world and seed the next generation of art collectors throughout the United States.
