Kim Jones' Dior Continues Its Floral Foray With the "Jardin" Capsule
Horticulture, but make it fashion.
Kim Jones is taking us through Dior‘s green-fingered renaissance, as the house has followed up on its $8,700 USD gardening kit and Spring/Summer 2023 runway show that transformed a traditional French building into a floral paradise with a new capsule titled “Jardin.”
The increasing botanical focus harks back to Dior’s roots, as its founder — Christian Dior — was an avid gardener and fan of all things horticulture. For the “Jardin” capsule, Jones presents signature Dior pieces injected with Monsieur Dior’s passion for nature, focusing on the “Queen of Flowers,” the magestic rose.
A rose takes the form of the “I” in Dior and sits displayed across a white silk and cotton-mix sweater, while a relaxed T-shirt in blush pink sees the rose delicately draped over the front. Classic silk bandanas get the floral treatment, this time around depicting various roses placed organically across the square accessory, while silk twill shirts also get the full-body look.
Complementing some of these standout items are socks in pink technical mesh, a silver-finished brass and resin rose necklace, blush and gray-toned B30 sneakers, and a silk tie in black, green and mauve. This color scheme kicks off another department in this collaboration, seeing the rose take on a darker form across intarsia knit tops, a Harrington blouse jacket, the “Jardin” overshirt, cuffed chinos and more.
