UNIQLO UT Revisits the Works of Photographer Saul Leiter in Latest Collection
A quiet pioneer of color photography.
In tandem with its recently revealed Spy x Family collaboration, UNIQLO UT presents another special partnership under the new leadership of Kosuke Kawamura. The upcoming collection enlists the works of legendary American painter and photographer Saul Leiter (1923-2013), an early pioneer of color photography.
The four-piece collection includes two white tees displaying graphics taken in the ’50s that capture rainy and snow days in New York City. The rainy day tee features the text, “We live in a world of color. We’re surrounded by color,” and the other graphic tee titled Footprints features the subtext, “The street is a ballet. You next never know what is going to happen.” The other two T-shirts arrive in black, incorporating an open-window image of a yellow cab and a busy storefront.
The Saul Leiter x UNIQLO collection is set to arrive globally at UNIQLO’s website and directly managed retailers on July 11. The graphic tees are priced at $20 USD.
