Netflix on Tuesday dropped off the official trailer for its upcoming sci-fi thriller Spiderhead, starring Chris Hemsworth.

The movie, helmed by Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski, sees Hemsworth don an American accent as a pharmaceutical genius named Steve Abnesti, who runs experimental tests on prisoners in exchange for shortening their sentences. Based on the George Saunders short story “Escape From Spiderhead,” which was first published in The New Yorker, the film also stars Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollet as lovestruck prisoners who rebel against Steve at the namesake penitentiary.

“Beautiful people get away with too much,” Hemsworth’s character says during a scene in the trailer. “I say that having benefited myself from time to time.”

Kosinski is directing based on a script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, both of whom are best known for their work on Zombieland and the Deadpool franchise. Reese and Wernick are also producing, alongside Hemsworth, Eric Newman, Agnes Chu, Geneva Wasserman, Tommy Harper and Jeremy Steckler.

Spiderhead marks Kosinski’s fifth film as a director, following previous titles including Tron: LegacyOblivionOnly the Brave and more.

Spiderhead premieres on Netflix on June 17. Watch the trailer above.

Elsewhere, Netflix has been streaming unreleased titles to subscribers for their feedback.
